Our world-leading pre-clinical software product Provantis has been purchased by four Companies in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou and we have decided that now is the time to establish a 3-5 person Shanghai office that can provide Implementation Services and Customer Support. Shanghai staff will also assist with Sales to new clients and the Development of the product to meet the needs of the China and wider Asian Pacific market.
About the position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Technical Consultant. Your main responsibilities will be to support customer implementations of Provantis™, with specific focus upon the interfacing and connection of laboratory equipment, including chemistry and haematology analysers. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who can demonstrate a logical mind, who exhibits excellent problem solving abilities, and who can demonstrate that they can aspire to our strong company values. Appropriate training will be provided to the right candidate, both in China and at our UK and/or US offices.
Main Responsibilities
- To liaise and consult with Provantis™ users about their use and needs regarding data collection via Clinical Pathology analysers/instruments
- To assist in the development and production of Provantis™ instrument interfaces
- To install and test Provantis™ instrument interfaces at customer laboratories
- To provide technical consultancy to customers on installation and configuration of Provantis™
- To provide assistance to the Help Desk on complex system and product problems.
- Responding to and logging of support calls, via e-mail and telephone
- Provision of advice and assistance relating to products and services
- Reproduction of reported problems and documentation of same
- Reporting to customer on progress and resolution
- Liaison and consultation with other departments as both a recipient and provider of information
Skills/Experience
- Software development life-cycle and the processes involved in it
- Production of quality software in C/C++
- Knowledge of RS-232 and interfacing to external devices would be advantageous
- Proven background of team work and close liaison with other team members
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Proven customer facing skills
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Able communicator
- Confident and self motivated
- Able to project a professional and positive image of both themselves and the Company
- Should be a good listener and show empathy with the clients
Qualifications
- You must hold a Master’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably including software development, engineering and/or Life Science
Additional Information
The job holder must be comfortable with travelling within Asia and internationally as this is a requirement of the position.
