Instem Announces Acquisition of Trimetra Limited, Strengthening Preclinical R&D Solutions

Instem welcome the Trimetra team.

Instem is excited to announce that as of today it has closed on an acquisition of Trimetra. This acquisition aligns with our strategic vision of growth through organic and inorganic channels. Trimetra is a software development and consultancy business based in Liverpool, UK, responsible for developing the specialized Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) product Logbook™.

Logbook is an advanced ELN that replaces paper-based processes in highly regulated laboratory environments. Its robust functionality spans over 100 lab operations, including histology tracking, chromatography, instrument management, and data collection.

“Our mission is to help our customers to Discover, to Accelerate their efforts, and to ultimately Advance their key R&D programs. Helping our customers to be faster, better, and more efficient is a key part of this. Our acquisition of Trimetra is closely aligned with this strategy. Logbook is an ELN solution that allows our customers to capture data electronically more easily in key areas of the laboratory, which is critical to research operations efficiency and success. Logbook has over 100 laboratory data capture functions. This acquisition will strengthen our offering by allowing us to take control of Logbook’s continued product evolution and integration with our other solutions. It is another step in our ongoing journey to deliver more value to our customers and to reinforce our position as a leader in the Preclinical R&D space.” Vik Krishnan, CEO, Instem
