NOTOCORD-hem™ is a modular software platform for the acquisition, visualization, analysis, and reporting of physiological signals in nonclinical and academic life science research. It supports cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous system studies across a range of species, experimental conditions, and hardware configurations.
NOTOCORD-hem™ 5.4 extends this foundation with two new analysis and data access capabilities, together with targeted improvements to traceability, data quality, timing, and display reliability.
New capabilities in NOTOCORD hem 5.4
Respiratory rate from electrocardiogram recordings
The new Respiratory Rate from the Electrocardiogram module estimates respiratory rates directly from electrocardiogram recordings in large animal studies. It analyzes variations in QRS complexes to produce continuous respiratory rate measurements without dedicated respiratory instrumentation.
- Supports analysis during data acquisition and after recording
- Provides configurable analysis parameters
- Includes species-specific presets for dogs and non-human primates
Research benefits
- Derives respiratory information from existing electrocardiogram recordings
- Prevents respiratory instrumentation requirements
- Aligns cardiovascular and respiratory measurements from a single signal source
- Supports efficient safety pharmacology and cardiovascular research workflows involving large animals
Direct access from Python workflows
The new Python Programming Interface provides direct access to NOTOCORD-hem™ data from Python applications and scripts. Researchers and data scientists can read raw and calculated data, automate workflows, and incorporate recordings into custom analysis and machine learning environments.
- Offers a low-level programming interface for advanced users
- Provides a high-level Python library for simplified file access and data extraction
- Automates repetitive data extraction tasks
- Supports custom analysis, reporting, statistical modelling, and artificial intelligence workflows
Quality and reliability improvements
Version 5.4 also introduces focused improvements across sleep scoring, and Stellar Telemetry data acquisition, such as sleep scoring model traced in the audit trail to improve regulatory compliance, and scheduled recording improvements when using Stellar Telemetry memory-type implants.
Advance physiological research workflows
NOTOCORD-hem™ 5.4 expands the use of existing physiological signals, supports programmable access to study data, and improves the reliability of established workflows.
